Meet the Owner

Analicia Lucas, M.S. CCC-SLP

I’ve had an interest in speech since I was young, but my passion for helping people with speech and language difficulties began as I learned Spanish in a foreign country and American Sign Language at a university for the Deaf. I began to realize how difficult it is to communicate when your skill set is different from those around you. When I entered graduate school and met many patients with speech and language difficulties, I became eager to find new ways to help them.

A native Texan, I moved across the country to start my career in San Diego, where I received training in bilingual and cochlear implant-related therapy. Throughout my career, I learned how to effectively help people with autism, stuttering, voice disorders, hearing loss, brain injury, stroke, cleft palate, apraxia of speech, and many types of speech and language impairments to improve their communication skills. I have provided diagnostic and therapeutic services in the outpatient clinic of two large hospitals and one private doctor’s office with children and adults of all ages.

As I gained experience and developed my clinical skills, I had a dream to open a private practice of my own. I opened Lake Murray Speech & Language to help children and adults who would benefit from speech services, but who are looking for more options. I now have the privilege of serving patients from my practice. When I’m not seeing patients, I enjoy mentoring new therapists, hiking, singing, cooking, and spending time with my family.
