Meet the Owner

Analicia Lucas, MS CCC-SLP

I’ve had an interest in speech since I was young, but my passion for helping people with speech and language difficulties began as I learned Spanish in a foreign country and American Sign Language at a university for the Deaf. I began to realize how difficult it is to communicate when your skill set is different from those around you. When I entered graduate school and met many patients with language difficulties, I became eager to find new ways to help them.

A native Texan, I moved across the country to start my career in San Diego, where I received training in bilingual and cochlear implant-related therapy. Throughout my career, I learned how to effectively help those with autism, stuttering, voice disorders, hearing loss, brain injury, stroke, cleft palate, apraxia of speech, and many other impairments to improve their communication skills. I have provided diagnostic and therapeutic services in the outpatient clinic of two large hospitals and one private doctor’s office with children and adults of all ages.

As I gained experience and developed my clinical skills, I had a dream to open a private practice of my own.  I opened Lake Murray Speech & Language to help children and adults who would benefit from speech pathology services, but who are looking for more options. I now have the privilege of serving patients from my practice, alongside an amazing team of SLPs. When I’m not seeing patients, I enjoy mentoring new therapists, hiking, singing, cooking, and spending time with my family.

Meet Our Team

Monica Viloria, MS CCC-SLP

My name is Monica, and I graduated from Texas A&M University- Kingsville with my master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. I am excited to begin my career and Speech-Language Pathology journey at Lake Murray Speech & Language!

I first discovered the field of speech-language pathology during career day in high school and immediately knew I wanted to help others with speech and language disorders. I was a dance teacher in New Orleans throughout high school and college, which is how I found my passion for helping children.

My most immense joy in this field is working with children diagnosed with childhood apraxia of speech, language delay, and adults with acquired brain injuries. Additionally, I have a passion for orofacial myofunctional therapy. My clinical experience thus far includes internships focused on speech sound disorders, language through AAC devices, orofacial myofunctional therapy, adult and pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders, and adults with acquired brain injuries. When not in the speech clinic, I enjoy dancing, traveling, and spending time with my friends and family.

Jamie Ehrenberg, MS CCC-SLP

My name is Jamie, and I graduated from New York Medical College with my master’s degree in Speech Pathology. I recently moved from New York to come live in San Diego.

I have a twin sister with autism spectrum disorder. She is the reason why I decided to become a speech language pathologist. She is my inspiration. I got to see how amazing speech therapy is and how it benefitted her throughout her life. I do not think she'd be where she is today without it!

My favorite population to work with in this field are children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, language delay, and the birth to five-year-old population. In NY, I also worked in a private practice where I saw a very diverse caseload. I am grateful to have been exposed to such diversity and different abilities. In my free time, I enjoy being active and spending time with friends and family.

Rosario Jaime, MS CCC-SLP

My name is Rosario and I graduated from Emerson College with my master’s degree in Communication Disorders. I am grateful and thrilled to be a part of the team here at Lake Murray Speech & Language!

I first discovered the field of speech language pathology when working as a special education assistant in a public school. I became a speech language pathology assistant (SLP-A) in the schools, where I worked for two years. I enjoyed the field so much that I then attended graduate school to become a speech language pathologist. I am bilingual and I am able to use both English and Spanish during the services I provide. I really enjoy making the family a part of therapy, as they are an integral part of my clients' progress. My specialty is in working with children with a wide range of speech and language disorders and diagnoses.

It is my goal to help clients overcome challenges associated with speech, language, and other communication disorders in ways that are unique to their specific needs. My areas of interest in the field of speech language pathology include early intervention for toddlers using a play-based therapy approach, bilingualism, and the use of alternative and augmentative devices (AAC) to aid in communication. I enjoy collaborating with other speech language pathologists and participating in co-led therapy sessions.

When not in the speech clinic, I enjoy reading, being outdoors, and spending time with family.

Kathleen Winger, MS CCC-SLP

My name is Kathleen, but everyone calls me Kat. I was born and raised in beautiful San Diego, where I am still proud to call 'home' today. After obtaining my bachelor's in education, I then pursued a master's degree in speech-language pathology through Idaho State University. Since then, I have worked in the private practice setting with clients of all ages.

What motivates me most is my role in helping to improve people's quality of life. Whether someone is just starting to communicate basic needs or is looking to advance their existing speech and language, my passion is helping people of all ages find their voices and make them heard. While I love all aspects of my field and profession, I most enjoy treating articulation, phonology, fluency, and oral motor functioning, as well as language and social-pragmatic skills. Parent education is important to me, and I emphasize a team approach to treatment. I frequently work with individuals who use speech-generating devices to communicate and advocate for their use when necessary.

When I'm not working with patients, I enjoy meeting friends for coffee, volunteering in my community, and playing with my golden retriever, Skipper.

Sandra Shapiro, MS CCC-SLP

My name is Sandra and I am originally from Montreal, Canada, but after living in San Diego for almost 13 years, I cannot picture ever living anywhere else. I have always been fascinated with language, but it wasn't until my final semester of college at McGill University that I discovered my true calling. I attended a career fair where a young SLP described how much she loved her work, because she got to work with people of all ages and a plethora of diagnoses, with no two days ever being the same. From that day onward, I knew that I was meant to become an SLP. Fast forward 20 years after obtaining my master's decree from the University of Vermont, and I have never looked back.

My work history includes four years in special day classes in the Boston suburbs, three years at a Cleveland charter school, and one year at a private practice in the Bay Area. For the past thirteen years I have focused on students with moderate-to-severe special needs at a local school with a multidisciplinary team. I often incorporate music therapy and sensory strategies into my sessions to enhance my clients' experiences.

I love all of my clients and bring my expertise to each case, but my passions lie in the areas of autism, AAC communication, pragmatic language, stuttering, phonological disorders, literacy, and language impairments. It is so rewarding to help my clients use speech-generating devices to communicate their wants and needs or to watch a child produce a new word for the first time. These moments never get old. When I am not working, I enjoy going to the gym, hiking, reading, playing word games, and spending time with my husband and two sons.

Sara Mousavi, M.S.P., CCC-SLP

My passion for working with clients started when I worked as a writing tutor and as a college advisor. I realized that Speech-Language Pathology was a great fit for me because I love language, cultural/linguistic diversity, and connecting with others over shared goals.

My approach is highly individualized, child-led, family-centered, and neurodiversity-affirming. My specialties include preschool language, early intervention, and Autism. I also have experience with Apraxia, feeding therapy, rare genetic disorders, articulation, phonological disorders, AAC, literacy, social skills, stuttering, and more. I also love working with adults. I am excited to join Lake Murray Speech and work with clients to achieve their goals.

I completed my Master of Speech Pathology at the University of South Carolina and my Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Education at UC Berkeley. I was born and raised in Southern California, and I enjoy yoga, hiking, reading, and art in my spare time.

Victoria Orellana, Office Manager Assistant

Hello, my name is Victoria. I have always found joy in helping others from caregiving to working in customer service. I believe people do business with people they like, so I strive to make each encounter a good one. I have lived in San Diego my whole life but I find joy in traveling and learning about different ways of living and other cultures. When I am not working, I am usually out with family and loved ones, trying new restaurants or at home watching stand-up comedy. I look forward to being part of an amazing team and learning new skills along the way.

Our Mission

Lake Murray Speech & Language was created to provide high-quality speech and language services for those seeking private individual therapy.  Our mission is to help each person gain the skills and confidence they need to become excellent communicators.

In San Diego, there are many opportunities for children who need speech pathology services at no cost to the family.  San Diego Regional Center speech therapy services are available for children ages 0-3 with severe needs. Children's Care Connection (C3) services are available to children 0-6 with mild to moderate needs. Your local school district provides free services to those who qualify (generally, children with moderate to severe impairments).

Adult and pediatric clients may seek services through San Diego State University Speech Pathology Clinic, as they provide free services to those who are able to adhere to their schedule availability.   If you qualify for any of these services, we encourage you to use them!

However, many children do not qualify, even if parents see a need for speech services.  Other times, children qualify but are placed on a long wait list. Some only qualify for very short sessions within a group setting and make limited progress this way.  Adults may have difficulty finding a solution for needed services requiring a specialty in a certain area of speech pathology.  That is why Lake Murray Speech & Language was created! We provide speech therapy in San Diego to those who are looking for more options.
